Join the Call for an Investigation of Sheriff Arpaio

In hopes of putting a stop to Sheriff Joe Arpaio's madness, our friends at America's Voice sent an email blast to its supporters asking them to request an investigation of Arpaio's abuses under the guise of the 287(g) agreement.

In 2007, Arpaio and the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors signed a 287(g) agreement with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  The agreement gives state and local police  the ability enforce immigration laws in certain capacities traditionally reserved for immigration officers.  However, in Marciopa County, that has translated into the racial profiling of Latinos. 

Moreover, Arpaio's people are so busy profiling Latinos that residents are worrying that the sheriff's office main order of business, i.e., the community's safety, is being neglected.  The sheriff has 40,000 felony warrants outstanding in his jurisdiction and 2,700 lawsuits filed against him.  Join the call for an investigation of Sheriff Arpaio.
